“mischievous, marvelous, magical Maui…”

Finally got a chance to visit the fam again on Maui. Haven’t seen all my uncles, aunties and Grandma in over a year, and as usual its always comforting to be around family. Took a spin on my Uncle’s boat, went trolling out of Kihei and cruised pass Kaho’olawe and rounded Molokini. Whitewashed this time but was still fun being on the water…speaking of which, the water can be be calm and flat in the morning but don’t let it fool you because we got pounded hard as the day went on.

On a side note, I’ve heard people say that “you can’t stop progress,” I guess all you can do is try to manage it the best you can. Maui is literally booming and it was pretty noticable as soon as I got off the airplane. Maybe the pace seems so fast relative to Kaua’i but I definitely noticed a lot more houses, cars and roads in existence. Regardless, its still a very fun and nice place, and always enjoyable.

Even got to hop in the water for once, and went diving with my cousin. The grounds were nice and I guess the spot had a lot of fresh water upwelling. Its a trip seeing the two blend together because it blurs everything, at first we thought something was wrong with our masks. Managed to find this small guy…or was it a girl, not sure.
